Summary:

There is an essential trias of symptoms associated with temporomandibular disorder: pain in the temporomandibular region, movement alteration of the mandible and sound symptoms. Physiotherapy was used as a supplemental therapy to the complex stomatological therapy of temporomandibular disorders. In recent studies it was proved that coordination and stabilization exercises and relaxation improve biomechanical and functional status in the temporomandibular region (1, 2, 3, 4, 5). We have tried to design a physiotherapy approach to the temporomandibular disorders in this paper.

        Key words: temporomandibular disorder, physiotherapy
