Variability of Scapula Shape and Prediction of Locomotor Disorders of Shoulder
Krobot A.

Klinika rehabilitačního a tělovýchovného lékařství LF a FN UP Olomouc

Summary:

Cervicobrachial musculoskeletal pain syndromes belong to controversial problems of present medicine, which are also difficult to solve. The present tendency is therefore a targeted prediction of individuals at risk motion conditions. In view of the still absent standards for functional diagnostics of musculoskeletal disorders, our ward executed a semiclinical study, directed to individual shape variability of scapula and the correlation with dysfunction of plexus muscles as a possible stressor of shoulder disorders. We have demonstrated significant correlation between the shape of human scapula and the end potential of the external rotation muscles of shoulder plexus. The results of the study may be used for prediction of risk individuals and prevention of maladaptation damage of shoulder in all branches, which deal with motion pathology.

Key words: scapula, fossa infraspinata scapulae, morphological variability, phylogeneticembryological relations, cervicobrachial pain syndromes
