Summary:

The patients with speech disorders represent a large percentage of clients, who are provided therapeutic rehabilitation. It concerns especially patients with various neurological symptoms (conditions after brain events, cranial trauma and other neurological diseases), which may result in various degrees of articulation and phonation disorders. Orofacial rehabilitation plays an indispensable role here and is a prerequisite of optimal restitution of the speech functions of the patients. Our investigation is a pilot study with 22 patients affected by disorders of articulation and phonation within the frame work of primary neurological disease. The research is intended for the evaluation of speech functions and quality of life of these patients after treatment with specifically pointed orofacial rehabilitation. The research includes the evaluation of vocal records by means of spectral voice analysis.
