Summary:
Effective activities of the medical member of the reviewing team depend to a great extent on the ability to inspect medical data,
frequently recorded within the restricted possibilities of information systems. Data in information systems on the one hand do
not contain the ample information of medical reports, on the other hand they make it possible to select and compare a large
number of similar cases. It is not a question of substituting quality by quantity but a different view mediated by the mathematical
apparatus of economic models. When a suitable combination of both approaches is used it will imply substantially greater
effectiveness of the activity of the medical member of the reviewing team with the side-effect leading to control health care
discussed in the conclusion.
Key words:
economic - model - statistics - costs - reviewing - health care - perspective
