An inaccurate translation poses a significant source of confusion even in concepts of healthcare financing. The term „managed care“ does not express the essence of the phenomenon it describes and so it is with the Czech translation of it. Within attempts of solving healthcare financing issues, measures a being introduced which may be a part of the „managed care“ phenomenon but not exclusively. They are components of other healthcare financing concepts as well. These measures usually exist well outside of what is being called more specifically „managed care“ in the Czech Republic. Similarly, in the future we are going to embrace further measures which may occur in „managed care“ without this meaning that we would adopt the whole concept or its parts indiscriminately.
