Summary:
The author describes a case of dengue fever which was notified according to the appendix of regulation 290/1995 chapter V, item
3 as occupational disease. A 33-year-old geologist-operator working during a geological survey in the region of pluvial forests in
Cameroon developed dengue fever after his return. In the clinical picture slight haemorrhagic manifestations dominated – epistaxis,
thrombocytopenia and transient elevation of aminotransferases. Following symptomatic treatment after four months normalization
of the clinical and laboratory finding was achieved and the patient was subjectively free of complaints.
