Summary:
Suspension cultures of the poppy plant (Papaver somniferum L.) were permeated with Tween 80
and immobilized with glutaraldehyde. The values of optimum pH of L-alanine aminopeptidase
(L-Ala-AP), L-tyrosine aminopeptidase (L-Tyr-AP) and L-arginine aminopeptidase (L-Arg-AP) in
native and immobilized cells are 8.0; 7.0 and 7.8, respectively. In the cells immobilized with
glutaraldehyde, the activity of the enzymes under study is very low in comparison with native cells.
In the immobilization of amino peptidases, alginate gel was successfully applied.
Key words:
amino peptidases – suspension cell cultures – immobilization with glutaraldehyde
and alginate – Papaver somniferum
