Summary:

The working activity is often performed in unsuitable positions, so called imposed working positions, connected with the long-term, excessive and one-sided load of certain groups of postural muscles. Discrepancy between parameters of the working place and body parameters of workers is usually the cause. Unsuitable working conditions cause health problems of different degree and also unnecessary fatigue. The aim of this study was to confirm whether the height parameters of the working place conform to the anthropometric parameters of workers and also to find out what are the relationships between the age, exposure and different degrees of health problems. Therefore, 30 anthropometric parameters in 100 women in a selected factory were measured; health problems were detected by means of a questionnaire and parameters of the working place were assessed.

Key words: anthropometric parameters, imposed working positions, health problems
