Summary:

       This paper examines the multifaceted stressors encountered by oncology teams and recommends the possible ways of reducing burnout through intervention strategies. The sample used in the study included nurses and doctors at 4 large hospitals in Slovakia. The study also discusses differences of the specific groups of oncology professionals (atheists and believers, long and shortworking professionals, nurses and doctors with or without personal experience with cancer) in evaluation of terms tied with their profession measured by the Semantic Differential Technique. The article concludes with suggestions on supporting the ways in which nurses and doctors cope with daily work on oncology of Slovak hospitals.
