Summary:
Authors have a long-term experience from practice and tuition with assessing a coal-miner pneumoconiosis and silicosis. In their
paper, they focus on some shortcomings in current legislation which cause problems to clinicians in assessing initial powder findings.
The methodical measure of the MoH CR No. 8/2003 – Assessing dynamics of development of pneumoconiosis and definition of dynamics
of development of pneumoconiosis - is especially criticized. The comments of physicians were not accepted during the approval
process and are specified in this paper.
At the conclusion, authors propose two alternative solutions of the problem related to reporting the coal-miner pneumoconiosis
(silicosis) regarding to dynamics of development and recommend abolition or amendment of the methodical measure of the MoH
No. 8/2003.
