Summary:
Authors present their experince on services of three health care facilities in Thailand, Bangkok, which they visited during their affiliation
enabled by the ČEZ Foundation. They visited the Chulalongkorn Teaching Hospital, Pasteur Institute and private BNH Hospital.
The authors focused especially on topics related to Tropical and Travel Medicine while visiting the mentioned health care facilities.
The health care provided to patients in these facilities is on the very high level, incl. nursing. The Chulalongkorn Hospital is a big
hospital affiliated to the Medical Faculty of the Chulalongkorn University. The health care in almost all medical fields is provided here,
the instruction of native and foreign students is included, a lot of foreign experts participate on instruction and research besides native
teachers. The Pasteur Institute was founded more than 100 years ago. It is an outpatient department which serves in fighting against the
rabies and produces the serum against the snake bite. The institute also provides certification and distribution of foreign sera against the
snake bite. The BNH Hospital is a highly equipped inpatient facility aimed at the richest patients. Its outpatient part includes the
Department of Travel Medicine which provides especially immunization, counselling and general examination programmes with preventive
focus.
