High pressure induces central nervous system hyperexcitability. This is demonstrated on three experiments implemente+d in the programme of „Atlantis“ and „Comex-hydra“. The results indicate the relevance of individual susceptibility to environmental pressure, the composition of the breathing mixture, the importance of slow compression with breaks and adaptation to the affect of pressure.
