Summary: Authors report a case of left-sided intrathoracic kidney associated with left-sided congenital diaphragmatic hernia in a 4-month-old girl. This report accentuates the importance of including ectopic kidney in the differential diagnosis of a diaphragmatic or thoracic mass. The nature and adequate functioning of the radiologically abnormal intrathoracic mass are demonstrated by ultrasound examination, DTPA 99 Tc scan and retrograde femoral arteriogram. After successful surgery the defect in the diaphragm was closed the spleen, a part of colon and a left kidney were situated in a normal position.
