A Hat Effect on Extraction of Foreign Bodies From the Upper GI Tract Author described an useful, simple and safety method for the removal of foreign bodies from the upper GI tract. Because of increased incidence of these patients, which swallowed larger and wider foreign bodies, mainly among prisoners. They mostly swallow spoons, wires and knifes. These objects make problems especially when riched duodenum and also during extraction through cardia, cervical part of oesophagus and oral cavity. The- refore author adapted condom urinal and take advantage of its “hat effect“ to protect, or screen duodenum, fundus of stomach and other parts of upper GI tract, during removal of foreign bodies. He has experiences with 112 patients and he used this method in 12 of them with successful results.
