Summary:

During last three years the authors have performed CT angiography before radiofrequency ablation of pulmonary veins in 195 patients. Ninety patients underwent CT angiography after the procedure too. They have found four moderate stenoses of pulmonary vein after the ablation and in one case even occlusion of a small pulmonary vein branch. CT angiography is a suitable method to follow up patients after ablation of the pulmonary veins. Stenosis or occlusion of a pulmonary vein occurred in five cases of this cohort of ninety patients.

Key words: atrial fibrillation - computed tomography - CT angiography - pulmonary veins - radiofrequency ablation
