Summary:

The authors detected monozygotic twins who developed at the age of 30 years permanent not painful oedema of the lower lip. In the case-history oedema of the lip was recorded in the probands’ grandmother. Epicutaneous tests (the patients grow vegetables and flowers) were negative. As to routine tests the early response to Peru balsam was positive, in one sibling also the late response to propolis. Histological examination confirmed the diagnosis of granulomatous cheilitis. Wedge-shaped excision from the lower lip and administration of metronidazol were not successful.

Key words: granulomatosis orofacialis - monozygotic twins - familiar occurrence
