Summary:

The paper reports non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) in a 55-year-old man who worked for 22 years under a significant trinitrotoluene risk. The found disease is an example of the fact that non too significant pathological laboratory findings can be accompanied by a serious histological picture showing not only liver steatosis, with contributing concurrent hyperlipoproteinaemia, but primarily showing marked necrotic-inflammatory changes. A sporadic finding of Mallory’s hyaline does not exclude the participation of alcohol, but certainly there are no sings of alcoholic affection.

        Key words: trinitrotoluene, non-alcoholic steatohepatitis
