Summary:

Objective: To compare the effectiveness of three antihelicobacter therapeutic triple combinations in a private gastroenterological out-patient department. Comparison of undesirable effects of therapy. Patients and methods: In 108 patients with chronic antral gastritis, Helicobacter positive, with the diagnosis of peptic ulceration (87) and with functional dyspepsia (21) three therapeutic patterns were used. In the first group (BAM) 10-day treatment with bismuthi subcitras colloidalis (B) 2× 240 mg + amoxicillinum (A) 2× 500 mg + metranidazolum (M) 2× 500 mg per day. In the second group (OMC) 7-day treatmnt with omeprazolum (O) 2× 20 mg + metronidazolum (M) 2× 50 mg + claritromycin (C) 2× 250 mg. In the third group (PMC) 7-day treatment with pantoprazolum (P) 2× 40 mg + metranidazolum (M) 2× 500 mg + claritromycin (C) 2× 250 mg. Results: In the BAM group we recorded eradication of Helicobacter pylori in 58.3%, in the OMC group in 72.2% and in the PMC group in 91.7%. The most frequent undesirable effect was diarrhoea. Most undesirable effects were recorded in group BAM (in 28%), followed by group OMC in 19% and fewest in group PMC (11%). Conclusion: The lowest eradication rate is in group De Nol+ Dumox + Entizol (BAM) and the highest percentage of eradications is in the group Controloc + Klacid + Entizol (PMC). The difference in the eradicati- on percentages between BAM and PMC is statistically significant. The difference between groups as regards the incidence of undesirable effects is not significant.

Key words: Helicobacter pylori – eradication – undesirable effects of therapy
