Summary:

The authors submit the case-record of a six-month-old infant with bacterial meningitis caused by E. coli. Meningitis developed within 12 days after transversostomy performed on account of Hirschsprung’s disease. The course of the gram-negative meningitis did not differ significantly from the course of other types of bacterial meningitis. The disease did not leave any permanent sequelae.
