Summary:
The project called ”ThePromotion of Social andMedical care and Education Programsfor Female
Sex Workers in the Czech Republic according to a Flemish Model“ is a part of cooperation programme
between the Flemish lands and the new EU member states. In the Czech Republic, the project
is registered under the name ”ESO“ (Erotic Services with Caution).
The aim of the project is to motivate women providing sexual services for money to undergo
screenings for sexually transmitted infections. During the years 2004-2005 they will be offered
hepatitis B vaccination free of charge. At the same time, hepatitis B and C markers will be examined,
and tests for HIV, syphilis and, in case of clinical symptoms, for other sexually transmitted pathogens
will be carried out.
