Summary:
The authors discuss the problem of congenital pigmented naevi with regard to their incidence,
clinical picture, symptomatology, tendency to progress, and the possible change into malignant
melanoma, and treatment. The authors demonstrate the problem on four child patients with
congenital pigmented naevi from their own clinical material. In one instance they observed the
development of melanoma with minimal deviation. The authors seek possible ways of treatment of
congenital pigmented naevi and draw attention to the need of their dispensarization from early age.
