Summary:
The author submits data on the incidence of violence committed on children, obtained from the department of
health, home office and the sphere of social welfare covering the period from 1995 to 2000. She compares the
incidence of new cases during the given period and data presented by different departments and mentions the lack
of uniform statistics as regards the classification of violence and age categories. The author summarizes also data
from prevalence studies made in the nineties pertaining to some form of violence committed on children. These
were data from representative and descriptive studies where some forms of child abuse and neglect were the main
or partial problem.
