Summary: Targeted instillation of 0.25–0.5 per cent solution of methylene
blue into the intestinal lumen is a simple and safe
method for demonstration of fistulas between the intestines
and neighbouring hollow organs and possibly also of
intestinal fistulas opening through the skin. The high fluidity
of the solution enables to prove microfissures not
detectable with direct view or with the use of iodine contrast
medium.
