Summary:
A 40-year-old male patient was followed up on account of gradual facial oedema and erythema with an obscure etiology. Based on detailed analysis of the case and epicutaneous tests the author reached the conclusion that the cause of the difficulties is propyl gallate - a substance which belongs to the group of lipophil antioxidants which are present in some external preparations, in this case in cremor refrigerans (ung. leniens)
