Summary: The medical study focused more to children ’s health care was introduced at Faculty of Medicine Comenius
University in Bratislava in the school year 1952/1953.The 2nd Pediatric Department was responsible for this
teaching.During the 38 years (school years 1952/53 -1989/90)nearly 2500 medical student were graduated.Many
of them are still working not only as pediatricians but also as successful university teachers (professors,associate
and assistent professors)and scientists in the field of pediatrics in Slovakia and in foreign countries too.
