Summary:

The authors describe a clinical case of a 52-year old patient with a surgically treated and histologically verified apocrine hidrocystoma of many-year duration localized on the forehead. Aside of a detailed clinical and histological description of this rare benign cystic tumour of the sweat glands, they also mention an eccrine hidrocystoma similar from the point of view of differential diagnosis, likewise classified among sweat gland cysts, and point to the possible clinical similarity of the apocrine hidrocystoma to a basalioma, an epidermal cyst, as well as to the blue nevus.

Key words: sweat gland cysts – apocrine hidrocystoma – eccrine hidrocystoma
