Scabies is one of the frequent skin diseases which is becoming urgent in recent years: i t is caused by a parasite - Sarcoptes scabiei. In the manifestations of the disease also the allergic reaction of the organism to excrement’s of the parasite participates, manifested by the formation of small papules, itching, frequently also the development of urticaria. Treatment of the disease which is indicated also in all people sharing the same home, involves local application of preparations containing hexachlorocyclohexane (e.g. Jacutin lotion, gel), benzyl benzoate or sulphur. Adherence to hygienic measures is equally important.
