Levels of education and manners in students at exams in medical microbiology
VOTAVA M.

Mikrobiologický ústav Lékařské fakulty Masarykovy univerzity a Fakultní nemocnice u svaté Anny, Brno

Summary:

In recent years the level of knowledge, education and behavior of medical students at exams in medical mic¬robiology has been declining. There are more of those who fail exams, show ignorance in other disciplines, háve gaps in generál education and lack manners. Still worse off are students at the natural sciences facul-ty. The cause probably lies in that greater numbers of students are enrolled, thus including those who are not as good. However, we are responsible for the quality of future physicians and other professionals, and therefore we háve lo not only teach our students but also bring them up. The personál example of assistants plays the greatest role. However, we should give thought to whether we shall be successful in our endeavor and whether it is correct to accept so many applicants.
