The Second Primary Tumour in Patients with Malignant Melanoma Followed-up at The Dermatovenereological Department of the University Hospital Bulovka. Retrospective Analysis

Summary:

       The aim of the work was to analyse the group of patients with surgically removed cutaneous malignant melanoma, in whom an another primary tumour was subsequently diagnosed. The group includes the patients followed-up at The Dermatology Department of the University Hospital Bulovka in the years 1989-2003. The retrospective analysis was based on the documentation of included patients. The analysis focused on the patienťs sex, age at the time of diagnosis, localization of primary cutaneous melanoma, histopathological classification, time from melanoma diagnosis to the next tumour diagnosis. The propor-tion of particular types of second tumours was evaluated, dividing them into malignancies (melanoma and non-melanoma), tumours of other localization (solid tumours and haematological malignancies).
