|
Summary: The authors examined in patients suffering from psoriasis vulgaris chronica lipid peroxidation products and the number of endothelial cells as compared with a control group of healthy subjects.
The objective was to find out whether lipid peroxidation products are formed in serum with a concurrent rise of the number of endothelial cells in plasma.
The lipid peroxidation products formed colour complex which was assessed photometrically. The endothelial cells were counted in a Bürker chamber after isolation in plasma.
Using Student’s t-test higher levels of lipid peroxidation were found in serum of patients as well as higher numbers of endothelial cells in plasma as compared with the control group of healthy subjects.
The objective of the investigation was confirmed. It may be assumed that there was also a higher vasodilatation. This condition can to a certain extent be influenced by diet and suitable supplements.
