Summary:

Ablation of Malignant Liver Lesions The authors discuss problems of radiofrequency ablation (RFA) of malignant liver lesions, esp. primary hepatocellular carcinoma and metastatic liver lesions. The authors present an overview of indications and results of the first 20 RFA. The possibility of laparoscopic navigation of the radiofrequency electrode in the abdominal cavity is discussed too. They emphasize to specify more the distance and locality of the liver lesion, evaluation of the anatomical relations, diagnostic of other possible lesions and the controlled navigation of the tube and logically the control of the effect of RFA as some possible benefits of laparoscopic navigation and the control of RFA electrode.

        Key words: radiofrequency ablation, laparoscopy
