Summary:
Crl: NMRI-BR male mice received Curantyl in daily doses 0.075 mg. Administration of the drug resulted in
increased body mass. An increased content of total lipids and individual lipid classes was observed in liver tissue.
Changes in heart and kidney masses were not observed. The total lipid content in heart tissue decreased, in renal
tissue it remained unchanged. The most important change in fatty acid patterns was an increase of n-6 and n-3
polyunsaturated fatty acids in phospholipids of kidney tissue, which was compensated by a lower content of
saturated and monoenoic fatty acids. A decreased content of monounsaturated fatty acids was observed in
phospholipids of heart tissue; in phosphatidylcholine an increased content of polyunsaturated fatty acids n-6
and n-3 was found, while in phosphatidylethanolamine their content decreased and that of saturated fatty acids
increased.
