Summary:

The retrospective study compares the results of an estimated audiogram obtained by measuring of Steady State Evoked Potentials with a classical audiogram. SSEP is a relatively new method of hearing threshold estimating used in our department since 1999. The main advantage is frequency specificity. Till now 1270 ears in 648 patients were examined. A group of 30 patients in which both methods of measuring were possible is evaluated. The first results are favourable - they demonstrate a high benefit especially in pediatric audiology in the youngest age group.

Key words: Steady State Evoked Potentials, estimated audiogram, ERA
