Summary: The authors describe their favourable experience with assessment of total cholesterol on an automatic analyzer 5ynchron LX20 Beckman from a sample of capillary blond for checking and long-term monitoring of low-cholesterol dietary or medicamentous treatment. The correlation coefficient as compared with venous blond values is 0.933 mmoUl (range 3.5 -10.5 mmoUl) and the assessed values are with regard to the existence and respect of other preanalytic intluences mutually interchangeable. The method is included in the statím regime and is any time available and makes possible a check-up unexpected by the patient in tase of low compliance in the family.
