Summary: Authors summarize in the submitted article the latest knowledge about the role of apoptosis in the pathogenesis
of some neurologic disorders in childhood. The first part of the publication is dedicated to apoptosis and its
characteristics. Then the role of apoptosis in the pathogenesis of perinatal brain damage, neural tube defects and
traumatic brain damage is mentioned.
