Summary:

The authors present the case of a 39-year-old woman who was treated for 14 years at the dermatological department on account of acne. Immunological laboratory tests revealed serious impairment of granulocyte function. 74 % granulocytes were unable to react to stimulation by an oxidative response on examination on a flow cytometer. This disorder is typical for chronic granulomatous disease. After initiation of treatment with systemic antistaphylococcal antibiotics marked improvement of the dermal symptomatology was recorded.

Key words: acne - chronic granulomatous disease - 39-year-old female patient
