Summary:
Morbus Caffey-Silverman, or infantile cortical hyperostosis is presented as a benign bone disease of child age
the etiology of which is unknown so far. Morbus Caffey is characterized by painful swelling of the afflicted part of
the body, by an elevated temperature and irritability. In the first part of the article there is general information,
in the second part the authors present 2 cases of Caffey-Silverman syndrome incl. hesitations on the differential
diagnosis of the above-mentioned disease.
