Summary:

The study was focused on an association between psoriasis and genetic variants of angiotensino- gen which can participate as an acute phase protein in etiopathogenesis of psoriasis. Two polymor- phisms of angiotensinogen [M235T ATG and A(-6)G ATG] gene were investigated in 136 Caucasian patients with psoriasis and 141 healthy subjects with negative familiar history of psoriasis. The polymorphisms were detected by polymerase chain reaction-based methods and restriction enzyme analysis. No differences were found in the allelic frequencies of the single polymorphisms between patients and control subjects. Both in psoriatic and control groups, the observed numbers of genotype carriers of single determined polymorphisms were not different of calculated numbers and were in agreement with Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium. The tight linkage dysequilibrium was found for double genotypes, both in patient and control groups. Concurrence of double genotypes of two angiotensinogen gene polymorphisms was found to be different between patient and control groups (P = 0.001).
