Onychomycosis is a disease which is difficult to treat in particular if it affects the toe nails. The most effective treatment is an administration of systemic antimycotic drugs. Griseovulfin has a relatively low effectiveness and is replaced nowadays by more effective new generation antimyco- tics - terbinafine, itraconazole and fluconazole. Based on data from the literature the authors present a review of the effectiveness of different preparations from the aspect of mycological negativization, clinical effect and frequency of relapses after treatment.
