Summary:

       Gc-globulin (Gc, DBP) is a multifunctional glycoprotein involved in the transport of vitamin D and its metabolites in blood; it is the member of actin-scavenger system, the precursor of macrophage activating factor (Gc-MAF), and plays an important role in the chemotaxis. These Gc functions are discussed in this review as well as the pathological conditions connected with the Gc concentrations changes.
