The authors evaluate, based on data from the literature and their own experience, diagnostic possibilities in haemorrhage from the lower portion of the digestive tract. As to examination methods they compare endoscopic methods (anoscopy, coloscopy) and X-ray methods (irrigo- graphy, arteriography) and isotope examinations. In the conclusion of the article they propose a practically feasible algorithm of different diagnostic and therapeutic steps.
