Summary: Liver transplantation has become a generally well-established therapeuticmethod in patients with liver failure.
It is important for the patient with liver failure to be in the best condition possible in order to overcome the
transplantation. After the transplantation the patient must be in the all-life care, which requires a close collaboration
between the transplantation center, the attending physician and the patient. The authors describe present
state of this care of children in Slovakia.
