Epidural Haematoma in Neonatal Age

Summary:

       Neonatal extradural haematoma belongs to the rare group of craniocerebral injuries. Atypical clinical signs are due to physiological and anatomical differences of the neonate. The early diagnosis is the main important prognostic factor in the therapy of these craniocerebral injuries. Safe ultrasonography is the base of diagnosis at this time. The authors presents the criteria’s and the possibilities of therapy based on the two own cases and review of literature. The neurological deterioration, midline shift or the depth haematoma more than 2 centimeters are indications for invasive treatment.
