Summary:
The fluoride content of instant milk formulas recommended for infants from birth to 18 months was analyzed.
The concentration of fluorides was measured electrochemically after the quantitative extraction of fluorides from
the protein environment by pyrohydrolysis or isotachophoresis. The fluoride content in instant milk products
ranged from 0.10 to 0.50 mg of fluoride per litre. An increased fluoride content was recorded in local products of
the Sunar type when compared with those of Milupa, Nestlé and Heinz-PMV (produced in UK). The fluoride
content of the above products did not exceede the prescribed range.
