Summary:

The author summarizes his own experience with clinical picture, course, diagnosis and management of the classical form of Kaposi’s sarcoma in a group of 10 patients treated in the Department of Dermatology of St. Ann’s Faculty Hospital in Brno in the years 1984-2003. The experience was in accordance with literature data. The best therapeutic results were obtained in disseminated form of Kaposi’s Sarcoma in patients who tolerated high dose treatment with interferon . Its limitations were frequent side-effects of interferon and a bad general health condition of patient. In localized or solitary lesions we prefere intralesional application of vincristine.
