Summary:

During last decades intrauterine diagnostic decreased it’s invasivity into the patient’s organism. In the 19th centu- ry, curettage was introduced for intrauterine sampling, simultaneously hysteroscopy was introduced for intra- uterine diagnostic. The development of hysteroscopy is facilitated with new technical inovations. In the half of the 20th century, new methods for intrauterine sampling, as suction curettes and canulas are introduced, allowing to perform the procedure with local anaesthesia, as office procedure. Serious investigations has proved that sensi- tivity of combined procedure – hysteroscopy and biopsy is 100%. From the end of the 20th century new 3 mm optics are introduced to practice, allowing a comfortable sam- pling of the uterine cavity, including biopsy sampling or sampling for uterine cytology. Minimal invasive endosco- pic methods for intrauterine diagnostic are standard diagnostic procedures of the 21st century.

Key words: hysteroscopy, transcervical surgery, endomet- rial cytology
