Summary:
High types of undescended testes which include an abdominal or high inguinal position impose a certain
problem. Surgical methods in non-palpable testes which formerly gave satisfactory results are developed further.
Miniinvasive laparoscopy is at present considered the standard method in localization and treatment of non-pal-
pabler testicles. The authors used laparoscopy as a diagnostic and therapeutic method in 45 boys with an
non-palpable testis, the average age of the operated patients being 4.8 years. In 14 instances they revealed agenesis
or atrophy of the testis, in 15 patients they isolated the abdominally located testicle, drew it into the inguien and
completed the procedure by classical orchidopexy. In 16 boys they used the Fowler-Stephens method and completed
the operation by orchidopexy after an interval of 2 do 4 months.
