Investigation of Subjective Perception and Condition of Blood Donors Before and After the First Blood Donation
Michalák L.

Ekonomická fakulta v Chebu, Západočeská univerzita, Plzeň

Summary:

The author investigated in a group of 99 university students of the Economic Faculty in Cheb their sensations and mental condition before and after the first blood donation. The enquiry method SUPOS 7 was used. The differences of different items characterizing the mental condition before and after blood donation were tested by the t-test. Six of seven assessed differences were statistically significant at the 95.5% level, one difference was not significant. After the first blood donation the psychic state and sensations of the donors change. The tension, uncertainty, anxiety and fear decline, a feeling of satisfaction, good humour and rest increases. The variability of values of the recorded sensations increased markedly after blood donation.
