Parallel to possible occurrence of xanthelasmas in other parts of the gastrointestinal tract the authors describe a series of gastric xanthelasmas found in fibrogastroscopic biopsy materials. A standpoint to biopsy findings in six elderly patients is adopted as well as to the nomenclature, age, clinical diagnosis, differential diagnosis and to the pathogenesis of gastric xanthelasmas.
