Cetkovská P., Pizinger K., Resl V.

Dermatovenerologická klinika, FN a LFUK v Plzni, přednosta prof. MUDr. Vladimír Resl, CSc.

Summary:

Mycophenolate mofetil is used in transplant medicine for prevention of graft rejection. Its good safety profile enables an administration of long term immunosuppressive therapy. In last years it is used also in the treatment of some autoimmune and inflammatory skin diseases, especially, in cases where previous immunosupressive treatment failed or had to be stopped for side effects. Our experience with the long term mycophenolate treatment of epidermolysis bullosa acquisita, systemic lupus erythematosus and generalized chronic psoriasis is described. The mycophenolate induced remission and was tolerated very well in these indications.

Key words: mycophenolate mofetil – therapy – epidermolysis bullosa acquisita – lupus erythematosus – psoriasis
